Mother's Day Gift Bag

Hello again!  Today I have a fun gift bag for my Mother's Day gift.

The bag itself was purchased at Hobby Lobby, the ribbon also.  The patterned papers are from The Paper Studio.  The digi stamp is from Designed2Delight Digital Stamps  and is the stamp of the week for their challenge this week.  The scalloped circles and "MOM" are cut from the Cindy Loo cartridge.  You can't tell from the pictures, but the orange circle is cut from glitter paper.  The buttons are from my "ages old" stash.   I used the "center point" cutting feature on my Expression for the first time!  That's a really great feature that I will be using again.

I'll be entering this project in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Card

Here is a Mother's Day card made with a digi stamp called "Ladybug Balancing Act" from Designed 2 Delight challenge.  This blog will give you a free digi stamp each week if you use it to make a project and post it to their challenge.  Very generous!

This is for my mother-in-law, who has 3 sons.
I can only imagine the scary situations a mom of 3 boys has come upon. :)
                                I love pop dots!
Little, simple finishing touches inside make a huge difference.

The card base is from Hobby Lobby; base paper is handmade paper from The Paper Studio; ladybug is cut from Doodle Charms; the sentiment tag cut from Gypsy Wanderings; the sun is from Life is a Beach with the face hidden with the Gypsy and a Peach Keen stamp instead; ribbon is from Michaels and the sentiment is computer generated.

I'll be entering this in these challenges:
Designed 2 Delight
Peachy Keen Let's Face it Friday

Easter Chicks

I was invited to make something to join in a blog hop at The Crafting Misfit this week.  Thank you for the honor!  The requirement is to use a techinique that is new to us.  I decided to make a flower that I've not tried before.  This type of flower is made by just folding circles.

Here is the flower.  It was really simple to make and came out cute!

and here is the same card in orange and the flower is made by folding the same green paper but using the opposite side.

The printed paper is Martha Stewart and is 8x8.  I simply folded the page in half to make the card 4x8.  The "Happy Easter" and the chicks are from Easter 2010; the 5 circles for the flower are cut from George & Basic Shapes at 1"; "Chickie" is cut from Plantin School Book and welded on my Gypsy.  Thanks for stopping by!

I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:

Fantabulous Cricut

When Life Brings Rain...

Dance in the Puddles!

This card base is from Hobby Lobby, the cardstock is some I've had in my stash forever, the paper flowers are also from my "had this forever" stash and I folded them in quarters to get the shape, size and fluffiness I was looking for.  The ribbon is from Michaels and the little cloud stamp is from Studio G.  The little girl is cut from Everyday Paper Dolls @ 1 1/2", the puddle and grass are from Create a Critter.  The sentiment is my own and computer generated.

I'm submitting this card to the following challenges:

Another Blogger giveaway!

Stop by and visit Going Buggy for a chance to win the Happy Graduation cartridge and check out her great work.  She does a great job.

Garden Party Digi Card

This card is for the Designed To Delight Challenge.  I'm not all that crazy about how it turned out.  I was just really struggling with putting this one together.  The digi stamp is so cute, but I couldn't come up with a good assembly.  I still want to submit the card to their challenge, though because they will send me another free digi stamp next week if I play along.  How cool is that?

I used some glitter glue on the flowers and the cupcake "icing",  the "party" stamp is from Studio G.  There is white stick-on paper lace around the picture, but it doesn't show up very well in the pictures.  I wish now that I had inked that before I put it on.  Oh well, surely I'm not the only one who struggles sometimes!  Thanks for checking in!

Baby Boy Card

I had so much fun making this card!  I think this was the first time a card came to mind and it turned out just like I wanted it to!

The sketch for the layout is from the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge.   The paper is from K&Company.  It's and 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" pad so I just took a sheet and folded it in half to make the card 8 1/2 by 4 1/4". The squares on front are cut at 1 1/2" and 1 3/4".  The baby is from Everyday Paper Dolls, cut at 1 1/2", the tag is from Bags, Tags, Boxes and More, and all other cuts are from New Arrival. The moon and onezie are also cut and 1 1/2", the feet at 1"  and the phrase at 3/4".  I'll be entering this card in the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge and I think I'll submit it to Provo Craft for a project spotlight.  Wish me luck and thanks for stopping by!

"Birthdays Are Just a Number" card

Here is a card I made a for a friend before I had a Cricut.

He's a team roper, so I added the "lariat" made with a scrap of twine that was used to tie something I had bought.  I had some left over ovals cut with the Creative Memories system.  The numbers are from a punch set and the sentiment is computer generated.  I used the "direct inking" techinique which is just patting your ink pad all over the  paper.

Very simple card and  good reminder that I don't have to have a lot of tools to make a card......but I sure like to play with 'em!

Thanks for stopping by!

Little Girl Birthday Card

Here is another card made with a digi stamp.  I think this little girl is really cute and could be used for so many types of cards.  I honestly don't know who created the stamp, I found it on a web search for free digi stamps and saved it to my computer with no reference to the site it came from.

The papers are from Paper Studio and the stamp is from Stampendous.  The card base is from Hobby Lobby.  I colored the stamp with Stampin Up Markers and used some pop dots on two different layers.  I'm entering this card in the Birthday Sundaes Challenge and the More Than Favors Wacky Wednesday Challenge.   Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by!

Spotty Dotty digistamp card

I have been collecting some free digistamps on the web lately, but never tried to actually use any of them until I stumbled onto the Designed2Delight digital stamps blog the other day.  They offer you a free digi stamp if you use it for their card challenge.  So here is my first attempt with their Spotty Dotty Watering Can and I'll be entering it in their challenge this week.

I used a 4 x 5 1/2 cardbase from Hobby Lobby and cut a piece of the striped paper to cover the front.  The next layer of purple is cut at   3 1/2 x 5, the dotted paper is 3 x 4 1/2.  The printed papers are from The Paper Studio.  The digi stamp is printed about 1 1/2" and cut approximately 2x2.  I colored the stamp with Stampin' Up markers, used pop dots on two layers, added a bow and there you are!   Thanks for stopping by!

Another blog with a giveaway!

Scrappin' Mommy is hosting a hugely generous giveaway.  You should go check it out!  She is celebrating getting over 1000 blog followers.  I can't imagine having that many, especially since my blog is so new.

Belated Birthday cards

I finally completed the cards for the birthday I missed.  Yes, cards plural.....it was a birthday for twins in my Sunday School class, so I had to make two!  So here is the card for the little boy...

I forgot to take the pictures BEFORE I wrote in the card :p !   I wish that I had placed a sun on the front of this one, but I've already delivered it, so too late now!  All images are all from Paper Dolls for Everyday and the font is from Ashlyn's Alphabet.  Sorry about the shadows on the pictures.

And here is the card for the little girl...

I used my Gypsy and the Create a Critter cartridge to weld two of the skunk blackout features at 4", one upside down to make the card base.   Then I cut the skunk at 4".  I used the "hide" feature to crop the face, as it was smiling brightly.  The cupcake is from Doodlecharms cut at 1 1/2".  I decorated it freehand.  The sentiment is printed with Cricut markers and the Pooh font cartridge.

Yesterday I spent all day at the choir district contests.  The kids did really well overall, 9 soloists and ensembles qualified for state competition!  Kudos to all the kids for their hard work!

That's about it for this REALLY WINDY Sunday, thanks for stopping by!
